Packaging and why it matters
When I first embarked on this journey to establish my business, one of my primary goals was to create a brand that prioritizes being environmentally friendly. It often confuses and frustrates me so much when I order what is advertised as a natural product, only to have it arrive at my doorstep wrapped in an excessive amount of plastic packaging.
If you have placed an order with me, you have probably noticed that I predominantly package orders using paper products. You might be wondering why this is the case. The reason lies in the fact that paper products are primarily made from trees, which are a naturally renewable resource. Additionally, many paper products are sourced from recycled paper, contributing to the reduction of waste. Interestingly, around 80% of paper mills in the United States utilize recycled fibers to produce items such as newspapers, paper towels, and packaging materials right at their sites. This practice supports both environmental sustainability and responsible resource management.
Did you know that over 1 billion trees are planted in the U.S. every single year? Healthy forests play a vital role by binding carbon dioxide (CO2) and effectively preventing it from entering the atmosphere, thereby contributing to a healthier environment for all.
I do my very best to use as many circular products in my business operations as possible! A circular product is defined as a product that is thoughtfully designed to be reused, renewed, or recycled in order to minimize waste and promote sustainability. Additionally, if I have the opportunity to support an important industry such as the forestry industry, I am all for it, as it contributes to maintaining healthy ecosystems while providing valuable resources.
I also try to use packaging that is reusable either for the same or other purposes, like glass jars vs. plastic. I am always willing to fill a jar you have or reuse the jars that I have sent other products to you in. As long as they are free from cracks, I am happy to sanitize and reuse.
I will always be happy to provide a 10% discount if you bring your own container or choose to reuse one of my jars! This initiative not only helps you save a little money, but also contributes positively to the environment by reducing waste.
Thank you for supporting my business ~K~
